iWP for Ion Chromatography

Trovion iWP

The Trovion iWP is the first electrolytic, point-of-use water purification system designed specifically for Dionex Reagent- Free™ Ion Chromatography (RFIC) system. The iWP produces ionically-pure water required for IC analysis, at analytical flow rates, using Trovion’s patented CIRA electrolytic ion removal and regeneration technology. The iWP feeds ionically-pure water directly to RFIC instruments for electrolytic eluent generation and suppression. RFIC performance is improved by reducing background conductivity, gradient blanks and baseline shifts resulting in lower detection limits, improved reproducibility and reliability.

The Trovion iWP includes the Reagent Pump Controller, the CIRA EP electrolytic water purifier and installation kit. The compact iWP system uses reverse osmosis, distilled or deionized water from the IC eluent bottles as the feed water to the CIRA EP. The Reagent Pump Controller (RPC) draws water from the eluent bottle and pumps the feed water to the CIRA EP feed water inlet. In the CIRA EP, the feed water is electrolytically purified and then pumped directly to the RFIC system for electrolytic eluent generation and electrolytic suppression. The RPC features a variable speed dual channel peristaltic pump, power supply for the CIRA EP and TTL/relay control from the RFIC system.

The CIRA EP water purifier uses electrolytic ion removal and regeneration technology, which continuously removes contaminates ions and maintains the ion exchange materials in the fully regenerated form. For anion RFIC, the CIRA EP removes at least 90% of the dissolved carbon dioxide, which results in lower baseline shifts in the gradient mode, smaller gradient blank carbonate and improved recovery of late eluting analytes. The CIRA EP is always ready to deliver the ionically-pure water required for RFIC eluent generation and suppression.
