About Trovion

Executive Summary

Trovion Singapore Pte. Ltd. develops high-purity water technology and products for commercial and laboratory applications. Trovion’s first product, the CIRA water purifier, is a point-of-use electrolytic water purifier for use with ion chromatography systems. Because it uses our patented electrolytic ion removal and regeneration technology, the CIRA electrolytic water purifier is simple to use, chemical-free, and requires almost no maintenance.

We believe our technology also has application to the field of large-scale deionization for the power, semi-conductor, and pharmaceutical industries. For this application, our technology may provide cleaner product water, smaller scale operations, and lower power usage. Trovion is currently seeking partnership and out-licensing opportunities with companies interested in large-scale electrodeionization.

Trovion Singapore Pte. Ltd. was formed in January of 2007.

Our Products

The Trovion iWP provides ionically-pure water in real-time for all Dionex RFIC systems and improves analytical performance while insuring consistent results.

The CIRA water purifier provides an in-line, point-of-use ionically-pure water source for ion chromatography systems. Ideal for automated sample pretreatment and high-purity chemical analysis, the CIRA purifier facilitates low part-per-trillion detection of anions and cations. The device is compact, chemical-free, easy to install, and requires almost no maintenance.

Trovion also sells power supplies and controllers that allow for easy set-up and integration into ion chromatography systems.

Our Customers

Our current customers are primarily analytical laboratories that use ion chromatography for ion analysis. These laboratories are typically found in the environmental, semiconductor, power, mining, food and pharmaceutical industries.

Our Technology

Deionization of water uses ion exchange resins which are initially fully regenerated (cation exchange resins in the hydronium form and anion exchange resins in the hydroxide form). As the feed water is deionized, the contaminant ions are retained on the ion exchange resin and the resin becomes depleted of hydronium and hydroxide. By applying a electric field, water molecules are converted into hydronium and hydroxide which are used to continuously regenerate the ion exchange materials. The electrical field also enhances the removal of the contaminant ions. Using optimized ion exchange materials and our unique device design, the Trovion technology ensures that the ion exchange materials are always regenerated resulting in the highest quality water in a format ideal for integration into analytical instrumentation. We currently have five issued US patents with international coverage and several patents pending.

The Principals

John M. Riviello, Managing Director

Mr. Riviello, a co-founder of Trovion, has over 30 years of experience in the analytical instrument industry, primarily in chromatography R&D. He has developed technologies for trace metal analysis, especially in the area of interfacing ion chromatography with inorganic spectroscopy. His extensive research with electrolytic ion exchange led directly to the development of new technologies for ion chromatography. Mr. Riviello worked for Dionex Corporation and Transgenomic, Inc. in a variety of management positions. He holds over 25 US patents, with several patents pending, and has authored 15 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from San Jose State University and a M.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Archava (Dew) Siriraks, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer and Operations Manager

Dr. Siriraks, a co-founder of Trovion, is a recognized expert in ion chromatography and trace analysis. He previously worked for Dionex Corp and has extensive experience in applications development. For the over 15 years, Dr. Siriraks has owned and operated Archemica International, an analytical instrument distributor and service provider based in Bangkok, Thailand. He was also the Managing Director for Dionex Singapore, a joint venture between Dionex Corp and Dr. Siriraks. He holds a B.S. in Agricultural Chemistry from the Araneta University, Manila, Philippines and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the American University, Washington, D.C.
